  • How Much Do Your Photography Packages Cost?
    We work with all size events and work with budgets individually depending on what the client is interested in capturing. All of our packages are unique, as every client is unique. Please contact us for an individual quote
  • What Do I Do To Confirm Photography For A Date?
    All confirmations are done through deposits specified in the invoice we send you when you go with us. In the invoice, we detail the amount due to lock in the date as well as the amount due on the date of the shoot.
  • How Many Photos Do I Receive?
    The quantity of photographs sent out for a shoot is highly dependent on the type of shoot. For example, we deliver a high quantity of images per event, due to a larger degree in variation between subjects. Whereas in the case of portraits, we work tirelessly to craft the perfect few.   • What Is Your Turn Around Time ?
    Our turnaround time is variable per services provided and can be discussed individually on a case by case basis. On average, we deliver completely edited photographs within a month long period of when the photos were captured. Furthermore, we provide updates on the status of your photos.
  • When Is The Final Payment Due For A Shoot?
    The final payment is due on the day of the shoot. This allows us to process your photos from that given point and provide you with a complete folder of edited photographs.
  • Do You Have Insurace?
    Yes! We are insured, and can provide a certificate of insurance when required by a venue. Given venues may require insurance from outside vendors and we are able to provide any information necessary.
  • How Far Out Do You Book?
    We book years out in advance, as well as closer bookings. Feel free to reach out to us with any date you need covered, and someone from our team will be in touch. Furthermore, we're highly adaptable and accommodating around scheduling and will make any situation work.
  • How Do You Deliver the Final Images?
    We deliver our final images digitally. When the images are complete, you will receive an email with a link to a complete folder with the final edits. We do not exclude delivering in any other format, as long as that is specified. Other formats may include prints or a flash drive, although the latter options cost additional fees.
  • Do You Charge for Travel?
    We do not charge for travel for anything within a 150 mile radius of Philadelphia. Anything past that point incurs a travel fee which is specific to the distance traveled.
  • What Happens If the Event Runs Overtime?
    When an event runs overtime, the client bring on an expense at the same rate as the hourly rate charged for the event to be photographed.
  • Can We Provide a Shot List?
    Absolutely! We want to work with you to provide the best possible images, so when you have locations that you want featured, we go out of our way to make it happen.
  • What Packages Do You Offer and Can They Be Customized?
    Our packages are highly customizable, as we have a diverse set of skills within our team. We can work with you to craft a unique package that you're stoked on!
  • What Type of Music Do You Provide?
    At Starling, we specialize in exclusively classical string music. In providing string music, we have partnered with institutions such as Juilliard and the Curtis Institute, working with highest level of world-class musicians. Given we work exclusively with elite classical musicians, the repertoire performed is often times not specifically classical music, as we want to work with the client to determine song selection.
  • How Do We Choose The Songs?
    We work with you to provide the exact songs of your specification when you are interested in a particular set of songs. Once the songs are selected, one of our team members, who has worked under a Pulitzer-Winning, Three-Time Grammy Winning composer, will personally write out the sheet music for the songs so that the string players have the most perfect arrangements available for the selection.
  • Can I Make Specific Requests?
    Always! We have clients ask for a particular songs are "may you kiss the bride" and in other situations after other cues. Our musicians are able to work dynamically in any situation a client may ask for. The goal is to best realize the vision of the client.
  • What Does It Mean To Arrange Music?
    Arranging music is a deeply rigorous and creative process. It involves writing out the physical parts that the string players will learn and perform. In writing the parts, the arranger is making creative decisions on how to best interpret a song that traditionally wasn't played on strings, and adapt it to best fit the instruments.
  • Why Is This Service Different From Hiring A String Quartet Directly?
    Our service is different from a traditional string quartet service in that we have an in-house arranging team that has worked under GRAMMY-Winning composers, that writes the music specifically for our musicians. We have a roster of Juilliard, Curtis, and Manhattan School of Music graduates who work with us to fulfill dates. We work to intricately rehearse the music we perform and deliver the highest quality service possible!
  • How Many Musicians Can I Book?
    You can book any configuration of musicians, from a solo violin player to a full string quintet and everything in between. We will work to accommodate your needs in the booking process and create a vision you're thrilled about!
  • What's The Difference Between A String Quartet And A String Trio?
    The difference between the two is that a string trio has one violin, whereas as string quartet has two. A string quartet consists on a cello, viola, two violins, where a string trio is the same except for there being only one violin. Someone from our team can help in providing the information to help you decide what makes the most sense for your event.
  • When Does Solo Violin Make Sense?
    We have found people love solo violin during the ceremony, to play as they proceed down the aisle. We've also had people request solo violin during the reception to provide a beautiful ambiance.
  • What Does It Mean To Be A Multidisciplinary Media Company?
    This means that we aren't limited to one creative discipline; our team consists of individuals who are skilled and trained in a number of these fields. Our specialties include but are not limited to: photography, videography, and music. We work in many formats to provide combinations of our various services. Additionally, we can help construct a creative vision for a client and help them realize that vision.
